SYNOPSIS: A look at the Puritan beginnings of Hingham, MA who came here as a response to persecution and economic depression in England, as well as a dream to reform the Church of England to better suit their way of worship. Peter Hobart, one of many Puritan migrants, would come to establish the Hingham Settlement in an area first known as Barecove. Upon his death, the Old Ship Meeting House would be constructed, the oldest structure in continuous use in America and a physical testament to the dreams of the Puritans and Hingham’s commitment to the preservation of History.
